Setting up Parental Controls in Windows 10

In order to set up parental controls in Windows 10 you need the computer your child will be using to be logged in with your own Microsoft Account.

Is your computer logged in with a Microsoft Account?

Yes             No

 

How To Check

If you are unsure if the computer is logged in with a Microsoft Account click on the Start Button, click on the cog on the left of the Start Menu, click on Accounts.

If it says ‘Local Account’ under your Username then your computer is not logged in with a Microsoft Account.

If it has your name and email address then your computer is logged in with a Microsoft Account. If it’s got an email address but it’s not yours then that needs to be changed, that’s beyond the scope of this guide but we may add a new guide in the future . . .
